Grand Duo, movement 1 by Napoleon Coste (1805-1883)
The Sundt / Emtell guitar duo consists of me and Anders Emtell, established guitarist and educator from Uppsala. Also active as a church musician in Vaksala parish.
The title of the concert refers to the fact that the composers whose music we play come from Mediterranean countries.
Napoleon Coste (from France) gets to open with his romantic "Grand Duo"
Domenico Scarlatti (Italy) gets to frame with two sonatas
some two-part inventions by J S Bach (here the title is a bit lame because the country is Germany)
Finally, we play the passionately Spanish Fantasia op 54bis by Fernando Sor (Spain)
