Current and ongoing projects

ABBA seems to be a constant in Swedish music life. I want to reflect that in my solo programs as well. Right now they get to enclose a program that otherwise consists of my own music for both 10-string guitar and 6-string. In addition, two real contrasts by the contemporary composer Mats Åkerlund and the great baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach. |

The special thing about our duo program and the hub that we build our programs around, are the improvised melodramas that arise when Lars Björklund reads his poems and I improvise on my ten-string guitar. Around it we put a palette of style-breaking music from the last 400 years. From subtlety via emotionally charged romance to drama and modern sounds. |

My playing partner in this guitar duo is Anders Emtell. Mediterranean music is a title that should give a taste of elegance and passion. All the composers represented in this program come from countries around the Mediterranean. The exception is J.S. Bach. Some of his two-part inventions form the centerpiece of this program, which opens and ends with romantic and temperamental tones. The inventions, as well as a pair of Scarlatti sonatas, we play in concert pitch, which creates a completely unique sound image for these wonderful miniatures. |
Italian Espri or the Carulli project: The SiVa guitar duo, with Vassilis Varelas Ferdinando Carulli was an Italian guitar virtuoso and composer, contemporary with Beethoven, and in terms of tonal language, a forerunner of Rossini. We are very fond of Carulli's great melodic charm. Carulli was incredibly productive and has written several hours of music for two guitars. So there is a lot to dig into! |
